Staff Bios:

Theresa M. Finer, CAC, CDVC
Executive Director, AAR Counseling Services

Currently the Executive Director of AAR Counseling Services in Naples, Florida and the president of the Southwest Florida Rehabilitation Association, Theresa Finer has worked in the addictions counseling field for over 18 years. She is a Board Certified Addictions Counselor and a Board Certified Domestic Violence Counselor and Board Certified Forensic Specialist. Before relocating to Florida, she conducted a private practice in Reading, Pennsylvania. She has designed group programs for treating people with codependency, ACOA addictive disorders, and other disorders. Ms. Finer has facilitated groups for couples, Family, adolescents, and adults, and has supervised other counselors. She has specialized in treating individuals with chronic pain management. She has had special training at Harvard University Medical School. Theresa is co-author of a book titled "The Group Counseling Handbook." She has been a presenter at National State Conferences, and has written articles for a number of organizations. She is a consultant for Clinical Consulting Services www.clinicalconsulting.info. Anne Shaver, M.S.W., CAP, ICADC
Clinical Supervisor, AAR Counseling Services

Anne has been in the field of addictions and other disorders for more than 27 years. Her specialties include alcohol and other drug abuse/dependencies, eating disorders, batterer intervention programs and forensic counseling.

Anne has worked with children, adolescents, young adults, couples, families, and older adults. She has facilitated groups, couples counseling, family counseling, and individual couseling.

Anne assists her clients in developing recovery management skills to maintain the quality of life they have acheived through therapeutic interventions.

Anne has extensive training in a number of areas in forensic counseling and has received her M.S.W. degree from Barry University in Miami.

 

Dr. Vladimir J. Mathieu, MD

Dr. Mathieu, while completing his residency at the Reading Hospital Medical Center in Pennsylvania, covered for the medical director of the Caron Foundation, an in patient treatment center for treatment of psychiatric and substance abuse patients.  He was president of his chapter of the Student National Medical Association.  He is a member of: The American Academy of Family Physicians and the National Association of Doctors.  Dr. Mathieu is also on the staff of Naples Community Hospital and North Collier Hospital.

 

Therese Richmond, RCSW

Ms. Richmond is a certified Clinical Social Worker and a Certified Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor. She has extensive experience working with individuals and families on a variety of issues. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers, The American Psychological Association and the Psi Chi National Honor Society. In 1989 Therese received an Outstanding Achievement Award for Research in Psychology. Therese is also a member of the critical Incedent Stress Management Team.

 

Steven Wodzinski, MS, MBA

Steve is a registered Mental Health Counselor intern. He attended the Naval Academy as an undergraduate and went on to receive both a masters in Business Administration and a Masters in Counseling from Villanova University. He facilitates substance abuse and anger management groups, as well as counseling individuals. Some areas of interest include; adolescent development, chronic pain, work place issues, and academic and sports performance.

 

Susan Gayoso

Susan is a refreshing young counselor who specializes in group, individual, and conjoint therapy. As a graduate of the University of West Florida, Ms. Gayoso also studied abroad in the field of Psychology. Her determination to assist and treat has led her to AAR Counseling Service. Her bilingual skills and overall cultural knowledge have been valuable in the field of mental health and addiction.

 

Liz McGuire

Liz McGuire specializes in clinical counseling and addictions, working primarily with groups, individuals, and conjoint therapy. Ms. McGuire received her degree in Psychology and Human Services from Buena Vista University. She is certified in American Sign Language and she is an adult literacy educator. Utilizing her management and business background, she is able to present a high individual performance within her psychotherapeutic treatment modalities.

 

Maria Serein

Maria was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She is fluent in both Spanish and English and works very hard as the receptionist for AAR. She is now attending college with hopes of one day becoming a medical assistant. AAR is both proud and lucky to have Maria on the staff.

 

Kelly Brady

Kelly Brady is an enthusiatic new counselor on the AAR Staff. Kelly has much experience in both the medical and addiction fields. She is a Psychology graduate of Baylor University and received her Masters at Logos Christian College in Jacksonville, FL. With an urge to develop and improve, Kelly continues to work hard for the good of the patients at AAR.

 

Molly Modzelewski

Molly has had experience in the substance abuse and addictions field throughout Southwest Florida including work at the David Lawrence Center. She is a graduate of the University of South Florida and is currently working on her Masters of Science with a concentration on Mental Health Counseling and Psychology. At AAR, Molly's objectives include issuing the appropriate counseling strategies in order to promote effective personal, social, and emotional development.

 

Rosa M. Fillios

Rosa is the newest addition to the AAR Staff and will be serving as a receptionist for AAR. She is fluent in both English and Spanish and has volunteered in the public school system within the Naples area as a translator, as well as participating in volunteer work in the Boston area.
